Some time back Mac got a Frog Planet kit. It had a container for frogs that you had to send off for. We ordered two frogs. The short of it is they both died.

Not long ago a pet store opened up in our town. They have lots of neat animals in there, including frogs. Fire Bellied Toads to be exact. Mac had some money saved up so we went and bought him one. We already had a container for it so no big deal, right? HA!

At the store I learned the toads eat live food, crickets. They eat 2-3 crickets a day. And, they need to be 5-6 week old crickets, in other words small ones. Not the ones you buy at a bait store. Luckily the pet store sells these at a reasonable price.

Well, I don't want to have to go to the pet store everyday to buy crickets so we now need something to keep them in. We need a cricket box. Naturally the pet store had one. It's actually a neat little box, designed for feeding animals. It has two tubes that the crickets crawl into which you extract and dump into the pen of the animal being fed.

In the end we spent money I did plan on spending, but all things considered it wasn't bad, under $20.

Mac is becoming the envy of his friends for having all of these "neat" animals. I have to assume he's not admired quite as much by his friends mothers .
