It is amazing to me how we take our families for granted, never thinking much about those who came before us. By the time we begin to wonder about these things it is too late. Those that know have passed on, taking with them all of their knowledge and experiences.

My grandmother is my inspiration for wanting to know more about the people that make up our family. Her stories about herself were so interesting, as well as those about the people she grew up around.

I began to dig deeper, wanting to know more about the people that came before us. It has grown into a passion. I have spent a great deal of time and effort trying to piece together our lineage. But what good is it if kept to ones self? I intend to make much of it available here on this site. However, I am very serious about protecting people's privacy. And for that reason not everything will be presented here, but enough to be of interest I hope.

I will be updating and adding as time goes on. I have decided to make my genealogy work the focus of this site. So keep checking back, there is no telling what you will find.

Granny's Writings are writings by Gladys Duckworth Spiller about her life. We called her Granny. I had been after her for some time to write things down she could remember about her life and family. She was well up in age when she did this. I typed them up and called it Granny's Writings. I cannot express how valuable this has been in my research. She passed on not long after getting this written down.

It is my sincere hope and wish that this information may bring as much joy to others in learning about our past as I have received while gathering this information.
